Let’s face it, this is not the worst thing you’ve caught me doing.

  • Brief story line

Tony Stark [Robert Downey Jr.] plays a multi billion dollar playboy at the wheel of the number one weapons supplier in the US. During a routine demonstration of his companies flagship ‘Jericho’ missile, Tony is taken hostage by a group of terrorist referred to by locals as ‘The Ten Rings’.

A rogue mortar blast sends tiny shards of shrapnel into Tony’s chest. Thanks to the quick thinking of his cell mate, Stark survives the blast but with a little souvenir. During his time in captivity Tony befriends the scientist who helps him to build his new weapon.

Upon a successful escape and rescue Stark begins to redevelop his ultimate weapon, but this time he will us it to make right his wrongs and fight the good fight.

  • Opinion

The Iron Man scores a solid 8 [Out of 10] in my book. With some next gen CGI and a suite most guys would give an arm and a leg for, Iron Man manages to bring out the childhood spark of when we were kids and used to read the comics.

Although the plot is a little loose at times relying on loud explosions and vivid imagination I can’t help but think there are a few too many times when realism is simply left wanting.

Though at the end of the day you have to look at it objectively and realise that for its target audience it’s a perfectly suited film. One to watch.

I’m confused as to how this works, but I’ll try.
